Explosion Dance Academy Staff
Matt Sexton,CCI, owner and artistic director, has been clogging for 17 years and has been instructing since the age of 15. Matt has performed professionally as a lead singer/dancer for DollyWood Themepark in Pigeon Forge, TN, and has traveled from Nashville to Los Angeles demonstrating his talents. Some of Matt's performances include made for T.V. movies, commercials, music videos, and many live theater productions. Matt has taken Dance Explosion to National Level Competitions and professional venues such as DollyWood and Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. Matt is a Certified Clogging Instructor through the Clogging Leaders Organization and a Certified Judge.
Kelly Sexton is the lead instructor for the Tiny Tot division of Dance Explosion. Kelly, originally from Charlotte NC, has been trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, and Clogging. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and began instructing at the age of 16. Kelly began her performing career at Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte, NC, and then moved to Tennessee to further her career at DollyWood in Pigeon Forge, where she was the lead dancer for 3 seasons. Kelly has since performed for "James Rogers and Company" at the Music Mansion theater, the "25,000 Game Show" with Bob Eubanks, the Eagle Mountain Theater, and the Smoky Mountain Jubilee, to name a few. Kelly is a pageant choreographer and has performed all over the Eastern United States with various production companies. Kelly is now teaching Nationally in the clogging circuit in both private and public venues.
